You’re a night-owl.
I tire and rise
with sparrows;
you’re athletic,
I crave nothing
more than to stay
in bed with my books
and cats.
When you ask
me to go canoeing
I worry how long
I’ll have to be there.
When you suggest
golf, I wonder why
ruin a field. Yet,
we listen
each evening
to each other’s
work, offer
suggestions
and raise
our glasses saying,
you did it,
you did it again.
